It seems that most of the world celebrates the death of Osama Bin Laden. Given his record of atrocities that is not surprising. He lived by the sword, so to speak, and died by the sword. I agree evil must be stamped out like a lit match, otherwise we will all be engulfed in the flames of terrorism.

But, most important, in my mind, is the lesson life presents us with here.

He was a wealthy man who had the means and opportunity of creating benefits for his people with benevolent works.

Instead he chose the dark side.

He preached a gospel of hatred and created havoc wherever he went. Why did he do that? He couldn’t tolerate views of the world that did not agree with his beliefs. Intolerance is the greatest evil in the world. More lives have been lost to this single cause that any other.

There is a saying, “Be careful of what you wish for.” It’s almost as if we create a path of outcomes and then wonder why those outcomes then eventuate, both for the victims and the perpetrators.

Whatever you create will come back to visit you. How can it be any other way, if you think about it. If you commit random acts of kindness, you will find kindness in your world.

If you steal and leave others with nothing, don’t be surprised if you have nothing. Some call it Karma, others fate. There’s no denying it happens. Think of how many dictators have suffered a fate similar to that they meted out to their opponents.

Remember the lesson here. You will experience what you create for others. The choice is yours. Use your choices well.
